Jawaharlal Nehru Education, Science and Technological Research Trust, Nanded was registered in 1985 under the Chairmanship of Honorable Vithalraoji Jadhav, Ex. Member of Parliament to cater to the Educational, Research and Extension needs of the students of the Maharashtra state in general and Marathwada region in particular in the field of Agricultural Biotechnology, Engineering, Arts, Commerce, Science, Management etc. The trust is also aimed to cater to the educational needs of the poor and marginalized sections of the society. The trust has decided to strive hard to achieve excellence in different fields including School and College Education, Agricultural Technology Development, Transfer of Technology through Krishi Vigyan Kendra….
Mahatma Gandhi College of Agricultural Biotechnology was established on 02 October, 2004 at Pokharni, Nanded. It is 08 km away from the Nanded city on Purna- Nanded Road. It has 100 students intake capacity per year. Agricultural Biotechnology education was initiated to impart scientific and technical knowledge to the students in the field of Molecular Biology, Plant & Animal Biotechnology, Food Biotechnology & Post Harvest Management, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Genetics & Genetic Engineering, and Enzyme Technology. It is also aimed to provide comprehensive & effective training to the students in the application of Biotechnological skills in the plants, animal science, and tissue culture for the benefit of society.
It is also aimed to conduct the research by the students & faculty members in the field of agriculture biotechnology for the benefit of farmers and to transfer the technology to the end users.
